March 2023 in Astrology

March is a very interesting month, as we will have the Astrological New Year. The New Year chart is cast during a New Moon in Pisces, which happens between late March to early April every year. New Year celebrations are very subjective, and vary a lot around the world, but I usually find that things always seem to click or get in place after the Astro New Year.

Events in March 2023

  • 07/03/2023 07:40 Full Moon in Leo 22°29’34”
  • 11/03/2023 21:57 Venus in Aries
  • 12/03/2023 19:33 Mars in Gemini
  • 14/03/2023 21:05 Sun in Pisces
  • 16/03/2023 01:19 Mercury in Pisces
  • 21/03/2023 13:23 New Moon in Pisces 06°38’54” – Astrological New Year
  • 31/03/2023 05:25 Mercury in Aries

With the New Year happening March 21st, the first part of the month deals a lot with closure and endings. This is a time to finalize things, to abandon old habits and discard the baggage from 2022. Doing that, we can start fresh going into April.

The New Year Chart has a close aspect to Mars, indicating some kind of tension, or conflict. The luminaries are also very close to Neptune, the planet of illusions and deception. We are amidst a war, with global repercussions, including many disagreements and quarrels on a global scale. This Mars indicates a continuity of said wars and conflicts, in the coming year, as well as the possibility of some kind of intensification.

Going along this route, another aspect we can see deals with Venus joining Rahu in Aries, with a close aspect from Saturn. Venus is the planet of diplomacy, contracts and agreements. Rahu is an uprooting influence. So this Venus here could highlight discord and clashes of opinion.

Overall, on a Mundane level, I believe we will be seeing a lot of disagreement and conflict between countries around the world. Treaties and agreements will be broken or discarded. Relationships might turn sour, with increased sanctions or other antagonistic measures. The US-China relationship, specially, could be reaching a turning point this year.

Jupiter, as the ruler of Pisces, being in this sign for the New Year is a very interesting point. This strengthens the yearly chart, and highlights Pisces meanings throughout the coming year. This is a very transformative year, we are discarding and abandoning a lot of the old, and opening space for the new. This 2023-2024 period is a very special moment, as we might be compelled to let go of somethings in our lives, say goodbye to old ideas, humble ourselves, and accept destiny.

On March 7th, a New Moon in Purva Phalguni starts the month on an interesting note. This is a star related to relaxation, enjoyment and comfort. It also deals with finding an easy escape or a good path out of a quarrel. On that note, the early part of March is a great time for finding a solution to a problem, or finding a balance in life. We could be optimizing our lives and routines to make things easier or more comfortable.

In summary, March is a month of clearing and preparation. We are letting go of things, changing our mind, releasing ourselves of old blockages and preparing to move on. On a mundane level, we will similarly notice endings around the world, with things shifting and old ways being exchanged. We could see some intense events or strong declarations happening globally, all pointing towards the end of something, the end of old ideas and agreements; clearing the way for the new.

February 2023 in Astrology

January was a very slow month. We started the year with both Mars and Mercury retrograde, which made things slower. This changes now, as we will have all planets direct until the end of April, when Mercury will go retrograde again. This means that February, March and most of April will be moments of activity, with a lot of things moving forward in the world.

January marked the shift of Saturn into Aquarius, an important change. February will mark an even more important one, with Neptune entering Pisces, after 14 years in Aquarius. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are planets that mark generations, as their influence spans decades. The shift of Neptune marks a new moment in the world, as well as the dawning of a new generation.

Events in February 2023

  • 03/02/2023 21:50 Sun square Uranus 21° Capricorn-Aries
  • 05/02/2023 13:29 Full Moon in Cancer 22°30’
  • 06/02/2023 20:59 Mercury in Capricorn
  • 12/02/2023 23:15 Sun in Aquarius
  • 15/02/2023 09:32 Venus in Pisces
  • 16/02/2023 11:48 Sun conjunct Saturn in Aquarius
  • 18/02/2023 10:31 Neptune in Pisces
  • 20/02/2023 02:06 New Moon in Aquarius 07°11’
  • 27/02/2023 06:18 Mercury in Aquarius

On February 5th, we will have a Full Moon in Ashlesha. This is a nakshatra that deals a lot with poison, conflict, as well as medicine. So early in the month, we could see some kind of revelation or news related to medicine.

On February 20th, a New Moon in Shatabishak will happen very close to Saturn. This is a star that deals a lot with technology, so the closeness to Saturn could show restrictions or blockages in regards to technology. This could relate to censorship efforts, as well as delays in the production of components and parts. Shatabishak also deals with health, so again, something health related could be revealed this month.

On February 3rd we will have the Sun squaring Uranus, this could deal with unexpected changes or sudden developments in regards to governments and leadership. Later in the month, on February 16th, the Sun will conjoin Saturn in Aquarius, which could similarly relate to politicians and leaders, with restrictions or blockages coming in their way.

There are three common points between all the astrological factors this month: health, technology and politics. So a lot of the events in February will deal with these areas.

Considering the factors, anything related to politics could be in trouble early in February. Any political discussion happening around the first week of the month will run into sudden changes, turmoil, unexpected issues, and an upheaval of sorts.

Although February will not be as slow as January was, I believe that both months will not be the most eventful times of the year. Astrologically, these two months deal a lot more with setting the ground rather than powering forward. On that note, this is a very important time for announcements and preparations. Intentions, projects and pursuits are being declared on a global scale, so we should be mindful of any announcements being done this month.

On a personal level, this is a great time for restructuring or reorganizing, as we can look into the future without being rushed into it. This is a great month for rethinking things and starting new projects. Early in the month, specially, we might be hit with fresh enthusiasm to shake things up and make changes. Around the 15th, with the closeness of the Sun and Saturn, we might feel somewhat drained or slowed down (specially Leo people); but this will be a good time to take a break and organize things.
