February acts in part as a calm before the storm, and part as the beginning of something big. Let’s understand.
The calm before the storm comes because of the Eclipses in late March and early April. Eclipses are the big transformative events of astrology, so March will be packed full with this impulse of change. And before that comes, we have a calmer February.
The start of something comes from the alignment of many planets in one sign. January ends with that happening in Sagittarius, February will have that in Capricorn, and later on in Aquarius.

Many planets in the same sign is called a stellium, interpreting this type of combination is simultaneously easy and insanely hard. Simply put, if you have 4 or more planets in one sign, you will have a lot of that sign’s energies running in your life. What exactly that means, however, is the million dollar question.
In a natal chart, people usually interpret this to mean that the person will be or act very strongly in a way related to that sign. It can be, it happens sometimes. Where the personality becomes deeply entrenched on the stellium. But in my experience, it usually means that the themes of that person’s life will surround the impulses of that sign. Even if their personality doesn’t reflect much of the sign itself.
For some reason, my family tends to have a lot of stelliums, specially in Capricorn. I might be one of the few exceptions to this rule. But looking at the lives of the people with said focuses, not everyone is serious and contented as Capricorn would indicate. But all of those lives tend to have the basic Capricorn meaning, of strife and sacrifice, rising above and working hard.
Going back into the prediction, from early February until around March 8th, most of the planets will be either in Capricorn or Aquarius. Those are the Saturn signs, so February becomes a very karmic month. Not only that, but Saturn becomes a strong influence from February 5th until around April 23rd, making the months ahead a very karmic moment.
Combined with that, all the planets transiting through Capricorn will join Pluto. Pluto represents transformation, akin to the 8th house or Scorpio, representing shedding an old skin and rebuilding yourself. So February becomes an important moment of analysis, reflection and re-invention.
Mars in Capricorn, specifically, is very powerful. This is a great moment to get things done, to advance causes or to overall make things. Mars will be here from February 5th until March 15th. Mars conjunct Pluto around mid-February could show a time to rethink our actions, concentrating our efforts into what truly matters.
The New Moon this month happens on Dhanishta nakshatra, this star represents wealth and achievement. The New Moon will happen with a square to Uranus, showing challenging changes, or obstacles towards achievement. This could be the revelation of a need for a change of course.
The Full Moon this month happens in Magha nakshatra, a star that deals with connections with the past. It tends to represent talents, traditions or something from the past that comes back to influence the present.
The Full Moon happens as the Sun approaches a conjunction to Saturn, this annual conjunction always represents a low energy point. Saturn tends to drain the Sun, and things become somewhat dull or weakened. On that note, February ends in a lull because of this influence.
Summary
February precedes the Eclipses of March and April, so it could be a calm before the storm. Saturn is a very strong influence this month, and a prominent influence from now until around late April. Being the planet of karma, this is a very karmic moment, where we are tackling old issues and making peace with the past.
Mundane
- Mars in Capricorn, specially conjunct Pluto, could signal a time for aggression or intensified conflict.
- The New Moon could represent something being revealed, or something shocking coming out, as Uranus will be prominent.
- The Full Moon will represent old issues, old wounds or old problems coming back on a mundane level.
Personal
On a personal level, the months ahead having a strong Saturn influence means that it is time to take responsibility. Take charge of our lives and problems, rather than be passive victims to it. This is a big theme of 2024 in general, actually.
Similarly, February will have most of the planets joining Pluto in Capricorn, so this becomes a great moment to shed an old skin in regards to our lives and projects. Changing the way we approach things can be a key point now. Change is never easy. In fact, a lot of times, it is a painful process. But shedding our old skin is the only way to transform and build something better and new.
Editorial Note
I just published my yearly predictions for 2024, kinda late, but still quite on time. The thing about publishing predictions is that the hardest part is not making them, but finding the best manner to present them. Something that is not only informative, but also easy to understand and digest.
I could’ve gone really detailed, and nit-picking, going month by month with every little event. But truth of the matter, in the end, we only remember the big things. So I focused on these. I discuss the main points that I believe will happen this year, rather than talking about every little thing that I find. Astrology is an analytical area, and you can always find more to analyze or say. Analysis never ends, unless you end it yourself.
Speaking of yourself, 2024 is a big year for this. As a lot of the energies this year deal with taking responsibility, dealing with the past, and moving on. Again, read the yearly prediction.
This month’s nakshatra will be Krittika, a star that represents the birth of Mars in Vedic mythology. As Mars will be exalted this month, I found nothing more fitting than talking about this nakshatra. I will publish that text in the first few days of the month. Also in February, I will publish on Mars and his placement in the signs of the birth chart, again, very fitting considering the transits.
