May will be a turning point of the year, as both Jupiter and the Lunar Nodes will change signs this month. Jupiter’s yearly sign change usually marks the mood for the coming year. Meanwhile, the Lunar Nodes tend to show trends and obsessions around the world.
Rahu leaving Pisces will mark a strong moment of change. Pisces itself is in focus right now. With themes of faith, illusion, and deception being prominent on many levels around the world. Notably, the recent death of the Pope is another big Pisces issue.
Pisces is the sign most intimately related to religion and religious institutions. Some astrologers specially relate Pisces to Christianity. This death signals a time of change, as the church’s policy is likely to change with a new leader.
The Saturn-Rahu conjunction puts a great focus in Pisces, making the period from early April to late May an eventful time for any Pisces subjects. Similarly, we might see changes or notable events in regards to anything artistic, like movies or music.
Rahu leaving Pisces, on May 18th, will mark another inflection point. Rahu promotes intensity and obsession, which although not always positive, it tends to promote a sense of enthusiasm and excitement.
Saturn with no Rahu, however, will promote a stronger sense of dullness and decay. Saturn in Pisces onwards after May will promote restriction and a sense of decline in regards to arts, music, movies and religion.
This is a mixed bag. We will see some downwards trends, specially in the short term. But in the long term, this will give rise to new (and hopefully improved) things. New and better music, new and better art, and an improved relationship with religion in the world. This is the Saturn conjunct Neptune trend, manifesting in the long term, while Saturn alone will dominate the shorter term.

I’m not yet done discussing Pisces, neither are we all living it. April started with Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Rahu and Neptune all in Pisces. Along with Mars in Cancer. With both of these Water Signs in focus, this becomes a very emotional time. We feel things more intensely, for good and bad.
For some, this can be a depressing and stressful time, where they are forced to deal with negative emotions and past wounds. For others, this can be an opportunity to heal these issues and move on.
Either way, this Pisces focus is (very slowly) waning. April had the Sun moving into Aries. May will have Mercury entering Aries in the first week of the month, Rahu leaving Pisces later on, and Venus leaving Pisces in the very last day of May. In June, Mars will leave Cancer and advance into Leo.
So June will mark the end of this Water Sign focus of the last few months. With that, handling our emotions will become easier, and we will be in a more serious and down-to-earth mindset.
Be aware that I said June, May is still in the teary and emotional water realm. So the month ahead will still be a sentimental and dramatic experience.
Going into the other changes, as I’ve previously explained, the combo of Jupiter in Gemini and Rahu in Aquarius will improve much on the technology sector. Specially in the second half of May, we could see some important announcements or changes in this regard.
In politics, Rahu in Aquarius will favor radicals. So anything revolutionary or unusual will be favored during this transit.
The Full Moon this month happens in Vishakha nakshatra, that star represents a very strong, focused and forceful energy. So around this Full Moon, we could see people taking strong stances or strong measures around the world. Reversals of fortune are a possibility now too.
The New Moon this month happens in Rohini nakshatra. This star is represented by a chariot, and it relates to anything noble, grand and important. New Moons naturally signal fresh starts, or new information, but this one becomes an even stronger reset. As both Jupiter and the Nodes will have recently shifted signs prior to this New Moon, representing a fresh start on multiple levels.
Mercury starts the month in Pisces, where it has been since February. Pisces is the weakest sign for Mercury, and here we tend to have communication issues, delays and mistakes. On May 6th, Mercury will enter Aries, which can take us out of a rut on that regard. Communications will be easier and smoother going forward.
Summary
June will be, in many ways, a new beginning. Astrologically, all the big factors will have changed in June. Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu/Ketu will all have (finally) changed from their 2024 positions. Similarly, Mars will enter Leo in June, after being between Gemini and Cancer since August 2024.
All of these changes represent a new scenario coming into play. They also represent us moving on from 2024. On my 2025 predictions I wrote:
To a great level, the early months of the year are a lot about reliving the end of 2024.
[…]
Around June, we start moving away from the past, and seeing new influences coming out.
Writing a prediction is one thing, living it and counseling people about it is another. Many clients have told me about repeated issues, repeated problems, or feeling stuck in the same situations of late 2024, which is very frustrating as we start to feel cheated out of the “new year, new start” bandwagon.
In many ways, early 2025 is all about hard truths, and dealing with things that we tend to ignore or shrug off. This was a necessary step towards learning, healing and moving on.
May is the final month of this re-hash process. In June we will enter new ground, new influences and a lot will seem to move forward.
Mundane
On a mundane level, May has two very important influences from the past few months. The first one, and the longest, being Rahu-Neptune. This aspect promotes illusions, deception and a blurry vision. Things are not clear under this conjunction, and people are easier to influence and manipulate.
As Rahu moves into Aquarius, this influence will wane, and greater clarity will come in late May and onwards.
The second aspect is Mars opposing Pluto. A fiery aspect that promotes violence, conflict and aggression. Exact on April 26th, it will be with us for the first two weeks of May, until around the 12th. As such, early May can deal with clashes and conflict. Similarly, accidents and unexpected events can happen under this influence.
May is a very transitional month. Reversals and back-and-forths are a given now. June will tend to bring more clarity and certainty.
The very start of the month can be very chaotic and forceful, as Pluto will be stationary retrograde in the first weeks of the month, along with an opposition to Mars. So violent events, conflict and accidents could happen in the first two weeks of May.
This month, we will tend to see strong stances, conflict and bluster. But again, nothing is certain or set in stone. So expect high drama, but don’t get too carried away by it.
Personal
On a personal level, May is the swan song of the Water sign dominance we’ve had since around March. The last two months might have been very emotional and hard for some, as we were forced to re-live old issues or deal with old wounds.
May will still have some of this, but it will be a moment of closure. May is a month to heal, solve and let go of old problems in our lives. This can be a time where we find solutions, meet new people, revisit the past and finally break free of what dragged us down.
The great changes of the month, however, are Jupiter and the Nodes.
On Jupiter, the shift from Taurus to Gemini is always interesting. Taurus favors stability and standing still, Gemini is the exact opposite, being all about movement, freedom and variety.
In our personal lives, Jupiter in Gemini can take us out of a rut. We will tend to feel more open towards change, trying new things and visiting all the different possibilities. The great challenge here can be indecision. But the sense of freedom we will feel can be extremely helpful towards growing and improving.
On the Nodes, Rahu in Aquarius will make us more rebellious and innovative. We can feel fearless about change during this transit, making this a great moment for new beginnings.
Also, Rahu in Pisces promoted melancholy, so our emotions will be cooler and easier to deal with as this sign change happens.
I will publish, later in May, full texts on both Jupiter and the Nodes. For now, just understand that change will be easier with their new placements.
