Lunar Eclipse at 11° Virgo, Hasta Nakshatra

An important point when analyzing eclipses and their effects is to understand that, generally, places where the eclipse is visible will see more effects than places where no visibility happens. It is also important to understand that eclipses have long sprawling effects, instead of immediate ones. New Moons and Full Moons affect the weeks around them, indicating monthly trends; Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses affect the months around them, indicating yearly trends. The effects discussed below are things that will tend to happen in the next 6 months.

This Lunar Eclipse happens in Hasta nakshatra, a star that relates a lot with trickery, deceit and underhanded communications. This nakshatra can also be related to technology, specially smartphones. So changes in the tech sector are possible around this Lunar Eclipse.

Maybe a downturn in sales, and hope, for the tech industry in regards to devices and profitability. Similarly, we could see stronger pushes for regulation and governmental control over social media, AI and technology. A shocking event, related to technology and social media, could be used to push for stronger control and regulation.

The trickster nature of Hasta, combined with other transits and aspects around the Eclipse, indicate to me that this is a strong time for deception. We could see exaggerated stories, or shocking events and discussions around the world. Something that will rile up people, touching old wounds and hurts, provoking strong reactions.

Again, this can relate with some kind of technological scandal, and a subsequent push for more regulation. But not only that. The trickery now deals a lot with power and changes of power. Issues with leaders are prominent now, so important political twists are possible.

On a personal level, Hasta signals touching or handling something to achieve your desires. This Lunar Eclipse signals a strong time for getting our hands dirty, putting the effort and actively working towards solving an issue. Past problems are specially prominent now. This is a time of letting go, not by forgetting, but by actively putting the past (or problems) behind us.

This could mean things like decluttering, filling paperwork or overall doing active work towards letting go of something. This is a strong time for moving on through tangible and practical means.

March starts up slowly, but it will pick up some speed as we go along. Late in the month we will have a Lunar Eclipse, which will go along with a Solar Eclipse early in April. The weeks around Eclipses are always eventful moments, so we should be alert and aware about that. Specially around mid-March, we can start to feel things becoming more intense.

But going a little bit back, into February, the month ends with an exact conjunction between the Sun and Saturn. This conjunction always shows a moment of low energy, slowdowns, as well as a harsher mood. February ends on this note and the first week of March starts like this. So be aware that this early portion of March can be a moment where you are more tired, where you might need more rest and where certain slowdowns are possible.

Last month I mentioned how most of the planets were aligning in the Saturn signs, we start to see a break from that, with Mercury entering Pisces on March 6th. This lightens the mood, to a certain degree, as Saturn becomes a less dominant force. Although the planet is very strong, and a powerful influence, for most of early 2024 — up until around late April.

Saturn is all about problems, but also about solving these problems. So this shift, as well as the Eclipses, signals that these earlier months of the year showed us problem areas. Now we start dealing more with solutions, putting the work to fix things, etc.

On March 5th, we have the exact conjunction of Rahu to the asteroid Chiron. This is a longer transit, happening since late 2023 and in effect until around May. It deals a lot with old wounds, old emotional baggage and how affected we are by these troubled experiences and impressions.

Early March becomes a strong time to deal with this type of issue. We might be thinking a lot about the past, about how people affected us, how things could’ve been different, etc. This is an excellent moment to tackle any old wounds and rise above them.

The New Moon this month happens on Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra. This is an unusual and weird star, that deals with strange matters, upheavals and cycles of destruction and rebirth. The New Moon will happen just as Mars forms an aspect to Uranus, signalling a moment of tension.

So around the New Moon, we could see some shock, tension or trouble looming. Considering the nature of the influences involved, this can deal with actual violence. On a less radical level, it could deal with great tension and actions that cause great emotional shock on people.

The Full Moon this month is a Lunar Eclipse happening on Hasta nakshatra. As any Eclipse, it gains a much bigger importance than a standard Full Moon. As such, we should be aware weeks before, maybe even early in March, about this influence.

Hasta promotes trickery, so this could be a time of manipulation, exaggerated stories and riled up emotions on a mundane level. On a personal level, it signals a time for practical change, taking actionable steps towards changing something in our lives. Specially things related to our past or past problems.

The month ends amidst the strong energy of the Eclipses, as a Solar one will happen on April 8th. Similarly, Mercury will turn retrograde on April 1st (until April 25th), so we should be aware of issues regarding travel and communications in April. There is a lot of volatility between late March and April.

Summary

March is a fairly calm month, with a slow start, thanks to a tense Saturn aspect early on. But it will pick up the speed, and in surprising directions, as the month will be imbibed in the energy of the Eclipses. Shocking events, surprising events and many turns are possible, specially in the second half of March.

On a personal level, Eclipses are always a time to go with the flow. We can feel intense yearnings and desires now. Sudden information can come out, which could alter our decisions, making it a bad time for big commitments. Yet, this intense energy can reveal a lot about our hidden needs and ideas, which can help us move forward, and maybe find something that we really wanted.
